I'm thinking about wrapping Christmas gifts in brown paper this year and decorating with festive toppers, tags and paper medallions. I wrapped my husband's Father's Day gift that way last month because I didn't have any non-girly wrapping paper in the house, and it seemed like a great way to recycle all the brown paper grocery bags I have. This is the first holiday gift topper I've made. It seems early to be making them, but I never have time once the holidays get close.
I made the paper medallions by scoring and accordian-folding strips of patterned paper and securing with hot glue. "Joy" was cut with my Cricut Explore from Create a Critter 2. I'm linking this project to the Cut It Up challenges blog, where the challenge this week is to use a word or phrase as the focal point of your project.
I love it! What a great idea, too. Now you just have to find a place to store it where it won't get squished.
